Sone Ki Dua in Hadith
Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the Prophet ﷺ went to bed at night, he would place his hand under his cheek and say this dua, and when he woke up he would say the dua of waking. (Sahih al-Bukhari: 6324)
Why does the dua mention dying?
Sleep is described as a lesser death. The Quran says that Allah takes the souls at the time of death, and those that have not died, during their sleep (Surah Az-Zumar, 39:42). Going to sleep in Allah’s name and waking with His praise is a daily reminder of death and of being raised again.

- Say SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times. (Sahih al-Bukhari; Sahih Muslim)
- Recite the sone ki dua as the last thing before you sleep.
